The official spokesman of the Algerian Judges Club (under establishment), Saad Eddine Merzouv, along with several judges, was referred to trial in an extraordinary session before the Supreme Judicial Council on June 01. This is according to what was learned from the official account of the concerned person via Facebook on Tuesday.

In this regard, the Judges Club issued today, Wednesday, 20 May, a statement of support and solidarity with Judge Saad Eddin bin Marzouq, where the organization under establishment confirmed its strong condemnation and denunciation of this “unjust measure that silenced the mouths of militants jealous of their homeland and their profession and those demanding reform and independence.”

The text of the statement said in the context, “We, members of the Judges Club of Algeria under establishment, received with disapproval the news of the referral of our colleague, Judge Saad Eddin Marzouq, to the Supreme Judicial Council in an extraordinary session, in light of the epidemic pandemic, neither for a crime he committed, nor for financial or moral corruption that caused him. His only fault was that he was a fierce defender of the rights of judges, and one of the first advocates for the independence of the judiciary from a Ministry of Justice with its successive ministers who chose to carry out their duties with the epidemic.
