
Algerian fans attacked the journalist of “France Football” magazine of Algerian origin, Nabil Djelet, who works as an analyst for the “L’Equipe” channel, after his harsh criticism of the coach. For the Algeria national team Jamal Belmadi, because of the latter’s conduct of his press conferences, similar to his answer to an Ivorian journalist’s question after the end of the Algeria-Sierra Leone match in Africa Cup of Nations 2021, and described him as a “meteorologist”, noting that the Algerian coach is very emotional in his media output.
Djamel Belmadi had deplored an Ivorian journalist’s question two days ago, when the latter tried to highlight Belmadi’s complaint about the weather conditions at the Sierra Leone meeting due to the high heat and humidity, and asked him how he dealt with the conditions of the next edition in Côte d’Ivoire after two years, and the Algerian coach’s response was harsh: Are you a journalist?..how do you ask me about a course that will take place in 2023..” He added, “You are not a meteorologist.”
“I would like to talk about Belmadi’s behavior with the Ivorian journalist,” said Nabil Djellit, during his guest appearance on one of the television sessions in France, commenting on Belmadi’s behavior in his last press conference. Telling a joke, such as saying to him: Buy us an umbrella.
And a journalist, “France Football,” added, “I find Belmadi very irritable, fiery and offensive in his responses… you cannot always enter into conflicts… it’s just football,” before going further by criticizing Belmadi’s actions in the Sierra Leone meeting: “He has to relax.” ..stumbling is not the end of the world and he did not have to play a play to highlight all that heartbreak and disappointment.”
The Algerian fans did not hesitate to respond to the statements of the French journalist of Algerian origin, and one of the fans tweeted: “Do you want him to act like Raymond Domenech?”, referring to the French coach who lost control of the French players during the 2010 World Cup.
Another continued, criticizing the French journalist: “It is the French part of your personality that speaks,” before another added: “It is his nature and his personality .. It is not you who will change him, I ask this matter from Mourinho and Guardiola .. We love Djamal like this.” When another refused to describe the coach of Algeria as an actor, he tweeted: “I do not agree .. Belmadi is not an actor because he lives with his country’s national team with all his heart, and not because it is the African Cup, it means that we will be joking.”
