The investigative judge of the court of Sidi M’hamed in the capital, three people involved in setting fire to the Medea forests, have been placed in temporary detention in the Qolea penal institution.
The investigation revealed video clips on the defendants’ phones documenting their involvement in the process of setting fire to the forests.
Those involved are being pursued with numerous charges related to committing sabotage acts, compromising the security of the state and spreading terror among the population, in an atmosphere of insecurity through moral assault on persons, the felony of arson and the felony of assault on the environment by inserting and throwing a substance that endangers the health of humans, animals, or the natural environment in framework of a terrorist organization.
