La star de Manchester City, Riyad Mahrez, a exprimé sa joie de voir son équipe remporter le titre de la Coupe de la Ligue, après avoir remporté dimanche soir 1-0 contre Tottenham lors du match final.
Mahrez et Manchester City ont dominé le match dès le début, gaspillant un large éventail d'occasions, avant que le défenseur français Emeric Laporte ne marque le but de la victoire à la 82e minute.
“It was a difficult match, we knew it would be so. We continued to control and pass the ball, and I think we deserve to win today,” Mahrez told Sky Sports.
He continued: “You are always afraid because it (Tottenham) is a good team, but we are confident in the way we play. We are very happy. You have to win whether you played well or not. Today I think we played well and won.”
Regarding the partial return of the fans in this match on the “Wembley” stands, Mahrez said: “They (the fans) made a huge difference, 8,000 great numbers, and we are looking forward to the return of more of them.“
