Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino said today, Saturday, that he is happy to extend the contract of Neymar Jr., the star of the team, until the summer of 2025.

Pochettino said during  a press conference , before facing Rennes tomorrow in the French League: “We are all happy in the club to extend Neymar’s contract, and the challenge remains. In front of all players, the need to work together and do their utmost to serve the team. “

He continued: “Skilled players are an important factor in the development of the team level, it makes the task of construction easier, so extending Neymar for years to come is an important step.”

On the extent of the feasibility of this step, in persuading Kylian Mbappe to extend his contract as well, he replied: “This step confirms the ambition of the club’s management for the present and the future, as well as the goals in the short, medium and long terms.”

Mbappe’s contract with the French club expires at the end of next season.

Facing Rennes and

regarding the match against Rennes, Pochettino said: “We have a very difficult task ahead, especially after the Champions League bid farewell. We were close to qualifying for the final, and we had a chance to win the European title .. An atmosphere of sadness and frustration prevailed, but we must turn this page and look forward. For the future”.

And he added, “We have 3 matches left in the league. There is no substitute for winning to reduce the gap with leaders Lille, and try to pressure him, hoping to win the title.”

And he added: “I do not have accurate details about Marco Verratti’s injury, I hope it is slight .. I am optimistic, and I await the results of the medical examinations.”

The Argentine coach commented on the possibility of using technology to control the behavior of the referees, after the accusations against the Dutch referee, Bjors Kuibers, who was accused by more than one Parisian player of insulting them, during the confrontation with Manchester City last week, in the Champions League.
