The Spanish coach, Javi Garcia, coach of the Qatari team, Al-Sadd, responded to the controversy of the “incident” that angered his Algerian international player, Baghdad Bounedjah, over the replacement.
Striker Punjag did not accept the decision to replace him in the match between Al Sadd and Qatar Club, and he made unsportsmanlike moves. Before going to his coach Javi Garcia , shaking his hand and apologizing to him.
Coach Javi Garcia said: “Everyone wants to play more minutes, the players must realize that they are part of the team, and the coach decides. Everyone should respect the coach’s decisions, not only that, but also respect each other as players.”
The Spanish technician added in his latest statements to the website of his Qatari club Al-Sadd: “These things happen a lot in football, and Baghdad is a great player, he is a respected person. I know that what happened is normal, and we will not stand against it.”
It seems clear that coach Javi Garcia dispelled everything that would electrify the relationship between him and Baghdad Bounedjah, and explode the situation. When he preferred to calm things down, and pardon his player.
Contrary to what some paint of a bleak picture of Baghdad Bounedjah, the Algerian international tops Al Sadd’s scorer list, after the club played 17 matches in the Qatar Championship. He scored 12 goals, just like fellow Ghanaian striker Andrey Ayew. Bounedjah also indirectly contributed to signing the only goal and signing the victory against Qatar Club, in Thursday’s match.
